Our Leadership

Brad was raised in the great metropolis of Eastaboga, Alabama. After high school, Brad attended Jacksonville State University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and English. He later attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity. Since surrendering his life to ministry in 1999, Brad has been serving the local church with his wife Beth. In May of 2017 Brad received the call to become the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Hazel Green, and is excited for all God is doing in the Hazel Green area. Brad and Beth have two children, Savannah and Ross, and in his free time he enjoys traveling, watching sports, especially the JSU Gamecocks, and spending time with his family. 

Dave oversees our discipleship ministries; and leads our Mission Team. He has served First Baptist since 1999. Dave is a graduate of The University of Alabama and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Shannon and they have two adult children, Regan and Alex. Dave is also Pop Pop to his grandson, Liam. Dave loves to travel, read, cook and dine out. He is also a crossword puzzle nerd. 

Coleman leads our students and young adults. He has been serving in ministry for over 8 years both in children’s and student ministries. Coleman grew up in Clay, Alabama and is currently a student at Leavell College of NOBTS. Coleman is married to Cierra Windle and father to two beautiful girls. Coleman has had the opportunity to serve on the mission field with Samaritans Purse both in Belize and Cambodia. He also has served with the North America mission board as a sojourner. Coleman enjoys hunting, fishing and playing with his dog Willis. 

Misty leads our ministry to preschoolers, grade school kids, and their parents. She has served First Baptist since 2012. Misty grew up in Hazel Green and is a graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville. She is married to Jake and they have three awesome kids: Ella, Bryce, and Lottie. 

Steven leads our worship ministry, including our choir, worship, and tech teams. He has been on staff at FBHG since early 2024 and has served in worship ministry for over 30 years. Steven grew up in Clinton, MS, and met his wonderful wife, Cheryl, at Mississippi College. They have two adult sons, Matthew and Benjamin who reside in Huntsville. When Steven and Cheryl are not at FBHG, they serve a retreat ministry for ministers and missionaries called Shepherd’s Inn.

Danielle oversees our nursery ministry, which caters to infants and children up to two years of age, along with their parents. She has been a member of First Baptist since June 2017 and has been serving the church since October 2023. Danielle was raised in Hazel Green. She is married to Scott, and together they have four wonderful children: Gavyn, Robert, Abi, and Jaxson.  

Somer has been a member of First Baptist Hazel Green for over 20 years and has served as Treasurer since 2015. A graduate of Auburn University, she is married to Brian and they have two beautiful daughters, Savannah and Sydney. 

Originally from Chattanooga, TN, Ashley has held the position of Ministry Assistant at First Baptist since July 2020. She and her husband, Kevin, along with her daughter, are active members of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens, AL, where they participate in worship and community activities.
